About Us

We still make use of water from the Lornty Burn at Brooklinn by generating electricity with our hydro-electric plant which we use on site and supply to the grid. We also have heat-pumps to provide heating and hot water.

Snuggle up with a hot chocolate and watch the Ericht tumble by in the winter months or enjoy a wine and BBQ in the yard during summer. For keen anglers we offer trout fishing from the river banks – perhaps you can catch your supper!”

How many red squirrels can you spot on the feeders at Brooklinn Mill or scampering through the trees at high speed? From the peaceful shared garden you might also spy the shy roe deer, which can be seen grazing in the fields or when they come down to the river to drink. Otters are occasional visitors – more often heard than seen as they call to each other on their travels. But with a bit of time and patience they can often be spotted in the Ericht or in the Lornty. You’ll also be neighbours with a family of beavers and the elusive pine marten. The River Ericht and Lornty Burn are also home to heron, dippers, kingfisher and goosander.

There’s plenty of parking for both properties, and The Jute Store also has secure storage for bikes so you can take advantage of Blairgowrie’s beautiful cycle routes.
